Camilla Hole Trios nyaste prosjekt er folkjazz prosjektet "Eventyrferd" med Camilla Hole Trio & Sigrid Moldestad og Torstein Slåen. Eventyrferd er eit bestillingsverk Camilla skreiv til festivalen "Pederhusveka" og hadde premiere på Pederhusveka sommaren 2022.
Eventyrferd er gamle slåttar og folkemelodiar frå bygda Breim, funne i ulike arkiv og bøker. Kvar slått har fått eit musikalsk eventyr eller bilete som blir formidla gjennom fantasifulle arrangement og åpenhet for leik og improvisasjon. Kvar enkelt musikar fargar desse bileta og melodiane med sin eigen kreativitet som resulterar eit prosjekt som ikkje liknar på noko anna en seg sjølv. Låtane beskriv alt frå "Den dagen han vart bortført av UFO" til "Geitekillingane som bygger heile verda i duplo". Musikken vekslar mellom å vere energisk og vill, til å vere drøymande og mystisk - slik som ei ekte eventyrferd skal vere.

Camilla Hole Trio's latest project is the folk jazz project "Eventyrferd" with Camilla Hole Trio & Sigrid Moldestad and Torstein Slåen. "Eventyrferd" ("fairy tale journey") is a commissioned work Camilla wrote for the festival "Pederhusveka" and premiered at Pederhusveka in the summer of 2022.
"Eventyrferd" consists of old tunes and folk melodies from Breim village, found in various archives and books. Each tune has been given a musical fairy tale or picture that is conveyed through imaginative arrangements and openness to play and improvisation. Each individual musician colors these pictures and melodies with their own creativity, resulting in a project that is unlike anything else. The songs describe everything from "The day he was abducted by a UFO" to "The goat kids who build the whole world out of Duplo". The music alternates between being energetic and wild, to being dreamy and mysterious - just like a real fairy tale journey should be.

Camilla Hole Trio is the original and more intimate and flexible version of the band, both musically and in terms of concert format. The arrangements are more characterized by spontaneity and improvisation, where the trio playfully explores the many tunes they have in their shared repertoire.

Trioen tar utgangspunkt i ein tanke om at folkemusikken høyrer til framtida - den skal førast vidare.
Trioen slapp debutplata "Halvemål" i 2018, på Taragot plateselskap
Musikarane spelar folkemusikk, i hovudsak frå Sogn og Fjordane, men også ny musikk. Camilla, Egil og Knut har også bakgrunn frå jazz og improvisasjonsmusikk, og spelar instrument ein ikkje nødvendigvis knyter til folkemusikk. Dei tar med seg instrumenta og dei musikalske preferansar sine når dei gjer tolkingar av dei vakre, tradisjonsrike låtane, som har blitt vidareført gjennom generasjonar. Ved hjelp av andre klangar, og bandet si oppfatning av essensen i musikken, tilfører dei låtane noko ekstra.
Camilla Hole Trio har tidlegare mellom anna hatt fleire turnéar på vestlandet, spelt i folkemusikkens "storstove" Riksscenen, representert Norge på Nordic Folk Alliance i Gøteborg og komt ut med plata «Halvemål» med tilbakemeldingar som: «Trioen har fått inn en fulltreffer med debutplata, et kreativt sjangermøte mellom improvisasjonsjazz og folkemusikk» Magnus Andersson, magasinet Folkemusikk.

Traditional folk music belongs to the future, and should be used by ever new generations
Camilla Hole and her trio released their first folk/jazz album «Halvemål» autumn 2018.
Camilla, Egil and Knut plays folk music, mainly from the county Sogn og Fjordane on the west coast of Norway, but original compositions as well. The musicians also have a background in jazz and improvised music, and play instruments normally not associated with Norwegian folk music. They use their instruments and their musical preferences to make their interpretations of the beautiful traditional tunes, that are given to our time through musicians of many generations.
Their debut album is named Halvemål after a strange phenomenon found in some dialects. It is a practice of omitting the Hs in some words, and instead adding them to the start of other words. The result is a unique Halvemål – or Alvemål («Fairy language» in Norwegian) if you like. In the same way, Camilla Hole trio reshuffles elements of the traditional music, puts it into a playful and improvisatory universe, thus creating their own musical Halvemål.
